Dr. Lê-Anh Dinh-Williams, Ph.D., C.Psych
Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Lê-Anh Dinh-Williams is a clinical psychologist and core therapist within the Evolve Therapy Program. Across both her clinical and research work, Lê-Anh has been deeply interested in what helps people reconnect with meaning, motivation, and a sense of aliveness when psychological suffering has made those experiences difficult to access.
Her approach is warm, thoughtful, and collaborative. She helps members become curious about their internal experiences rather than immediately trying to suppress, avoid, or judge them. Therapy can involve developing greater awareness of emotional patterns, understanding the ways people have learned to cope with distress, and gradually building different ways of responding to themselves and the challenges in their lives.
Lê-Anh brings extensive training across several evidence-based approaches, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-focused treatments including Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy. She has worked with people experiencing mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, emotion dysregulation, chronic pain, substance use, and other complex psychological difficulties.
Within the Evolve Therapy Program, Lê-Anh works as part of the psychology team delivering eFIT's core psychotherapy model and co-facilitates group therapy sessions throughout members' treatment. Group therapy creates an opportunity for members to understand the emotional patterns underlying their difficulties while beginning to recognize how those patterns emerge not only internally, but also in relationships with other people. Lê-Anh helps members approach these experiences with curiosity and compassion, supporting the movement from intellectual understanding toward greater emotional awareness, processing, and change.
Her clinical work is informed by a strong academic and research background. Lê-Anh earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Toronto, where her research examined how people experience meaning, motivation, and reward, particularly in the context of depression and emotional suffering. Her doctoral training included work with internationally recognized researchers in mindfulness-based cognitive therapy and affective neuroscience. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and international academic handbooks, and she has received competitive national and international research awards, including federal doctoral scholarship funding.
That scientific background complements something deeply human in Lê-Anh's work: an interest not only in reducing suffering, but in understanding what allows people to feel connected to their lives again. Psychological difficulties can gradually narrow a person's world. People may withdraw from relationships, lose touch with activities that once mattered to them, become disconnected from their emotions, or spend increasing amounts of energy simply trying to manage distress. Therapy can create space to understand how that happened and begin finding a way forward.
Within the Evolve Therapy Program, Lê-Anh brings this perspective into a broader system of integrated care. She recognizes that psychological change does not happen separately from the rest of a person's life. Emotional health is influenced by how we relate to ourselves and others, how we respond to stress, how connected we feel to our bodies, and whether our everyday lives contain experiences that feel meaningful and sustaining.
Her role is to help members understand themselves with greater depth and less judgment, work directly with difficult emotional experiences, and gradually reconnect with the parts of life that psychological suffering may have pushed further away.
