Meet Katie

Katie Stevenson is a Registered Psychotherapist at eFIT who believes that meaningful psychological change begins with understanding ourselves more deeply and developing a more compassionate relationship with the experiences that have shaped us. Her therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and often playful, creating space for clients to explore difficult emotions, recognize longstanding patterns, and begin relating to themselves in new ways.

Katie takes an integrative approach to psychotherapy, drawing from psychodynamic, attachment-based, mindfulness, and emotion-focused perspectives. She is particularly attentive to how early relationships, formative experiences, and patterns of coping can continue to influence how people feel about themselves, navigate relationships, and respond to challenges in their lives. Her work also recognizes the impact of individual, intergenerational, and systemic trauma, with a commitment to providing culturally responsive and affirming care that respects each person's identity and lived experience.

Approach & Training

Before becoming a psychotherapist, Katie spent over a decade in senior marketing and communications leadership roles. This experience gives her a particular understanding of the pressures that can accompany professional life, including high achievement, perfectionism, burnout, competing responsibilities, and the challenges of balancing career and parenthood. She brings this perspective into her clinical work, helping clients explore not only the demands they face, but also the emotional patterns and expectations that can make those demands particularly difficult to navigate.

At eFIT, Katie provides individual psychotherapy through the Embark Therapy Program, supporting members in developing greater emotional awareness, understanding the roots of their difficulties, and working toward meaningful psychological change. She is also participating in eFIT's intensive Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) training program, developing advanced skills in emotional processing and experiential psychotherapy in preparation for joining the psychology team delivering the Evolve Therapy Program.

Within the Evolve Therapy Program

This training builds naturally on Katie's existing therapeutic approach. Emotion-Focused Therapy emphasizes moving beyond intellectual understanding to work directly with the emotional experiences that sustain longstanding patterns of distress. Through intensive training and clinical development, Katie is deepening her ability to help members access, understand, and transform difficult emotional experiences within a structured therapeutic model.

Katie brings a thoughtful balance of warmth, curiosity, and clinical depth to her work. She recognizes that many of the patterns people struggle with developed for understandable reasons, often as ways of protecting themselves or navigating difficult circumstances. Her goal is to help clients approach these patterns with less judgment, understand what they may have needed at different points in their lives, and develop new ways of responding to themselves and others.
